A renowned trainer and respected judge, he has dedicated his life to producing and training the finest of the Arabian breed. His experience and expertise spans 28 years of judging both Regional and National Level competitions in the United States and Europe. His Level-1 Judge status finds him holding judging cards in various breeds. From Halter and Western Pleasure to English, he has judged almost every discipline including equitation.

Both Leon and his full-scale operation at Matthias Arabians have been featured in numerous publications including Arabian Times. They have been recognized throughout the Arabian community for their quality and merit in barn management.
The only thing that rivals Leon's love and dedication to his Arabians is his love and dedication to his family. His pride and joy is his grandson, Landon Matthias, who at three-years-old, happily proclaimed to the family, "I wanna show!" Nothing makes Leon
